Explore the schedule below and plan your path toward flourishing in your practice and fostering optimal learning for every student.
What does early reading and writing really look like in Kindergarten? In this hands-on session, we’ll explore how playful materials—like magnetic letter builders, stamping stones, and word pebbles—can support foundational literacy skills in any language program from the first scribbles to early words. Rooted in language learning outcomes of Alberta’s curriculums, this session connects joyful exploration to message-making, vocabulary development, phonological awareness, and phonics. You’ll discover how to use tools like the tuff tray and light pad intentionally across the year, and learn how to match your materials to the right literacy focus—whether you’re building sounds, letters, or ideas. Come ready to play, reflect, and plan for a year of meaningful literacy learning that grows with your students.
