In Blooming Science: Verbs, Skills & Smarter Assessment, we dig into the powerful language of Alberta’s K–6 Science curriculum—specifically, the verbs that drive the “doing” of science. These action words shape how we design learning experiences, engage students in meaningful inquiry, and assess their progress authentically. Together, we’ll unpack what verbs like observe, compare, design, and analyze actually look like in the classroom. Through interactive activities and practical examples, we’ll explore how these skills can bloom into hands-on investigations, stronger scientific thinking, and more intentional, skill-based assessment. Come ready to connect, collaborate, and leave with tools that make Science more vibrant and visible in your classroom!
